Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson, was born in Paris France of British parents Jacqueline Luesby Watson and Chris Watson both attorneys. When she moved to Oxfordshire when she was five, Emma attended the Dragon School. When she was six years old, Emma knew she was going to become an actor and for a number of years she was a student at the Oxford branch of Stagecoach Theatre Arts a part-time theater school, where she learned singing dancing and acting. By the time she turned 10 years old, Emma took part in numerous Stagecoach plays and productions. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone is the film from 2001 adaption from J.K. Rowling's bestselling book was filmed in 1999. Emma was initially discovered as a casting representative by her Oxford drama instructor. David Heyman announced to Emma that, after auditioning for eight times they as well as Rupert Grint were chosen as Hermione and Harry Potter. Emma's debut on screen took place with Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone's debut in the year 2001. It was the year's top production, and it broke records at the opening and the very first weekend. The critics were impressed by the movie and its performances. The Daily Telegraph, a widely read British paper, praised her for her exceptional performance. Emma received five awards for her performance in the movie.
